It was a great night of power-pop at Mohawk with Buttercup’s release of their new CD “The Weather Here.” And, the man that produced that CD just happened to be on hand as an opener. Salim Nourallah played songs from his newest “Constellation” with a full band. Check him out, love his lyrics and vocals.
Deathray Davies, the Dallas band with a bit of a Dandy Warhols feel, rounded things out with an energetic set, closing by calling members of all previous bands up to the stage for a sweat-infused, super-group finish. John Dufilho, the lead of Deathray Davies, is quite the talented guy. He also plays in I Love Math (with Old 97s drummer Philip Peebles) and Apples in Stereo. He was the drummer on Rhett Miller’s new solo CD (also produced by Salim Nourallah). Are you keeping track…?
A really special night of music!
